Let’s say !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is actually put up for sale instead of sent into a death spiral by going public; what car company should put in a bid?
I’d think it would be some company from Asia, as they have oodles of cash and the other European automakers already have their supercar/halo brands (MB has Aston, BMW has Rolls). How about Lambo being rolled under the Hyundai/Kai umbrella? What if Toyota went full on “fuck it” and bought Lambo?

Bring it back to its roots

It’s not up for sale, it’s an IPO like what Fiat and Ferrari did.

I talked it over with the other engineer that sits behind me. We decided not to buy it.

It’d be Geely or Tata

You sure Zotye isn’t up for the running? Seems like they are trying to build their own VW AG so buying Lamborghini makes sense, lol.

Oppositelock obviously. I’ll chip in 5k

Which is dumb and I did address that in the post

I’d put in a bid, but since Ford wouldn’t even let me buy a GT I doubt I’d be successful. lol

I think VWAG is a great home; but if it all goes to shit; then they should go back with their old parents at Chrysler

It would be sweet to see Piaggio buy them.
The problem is that there is too much platform sharing with other VAG cars though. Modern Lambos are basically Italian Audis . If they go to another brand, they’d either need to develop new models from scratch, or find somebody else to source parts from.

Lada.

Not worth $5k imo. I never really got Lambo past the age of 12. It appears to be a Ferrari with out the refinement and if I had that kind of cash I wouldn’t want something so brash unless it had some type of benefit. You can get the same or better performance in much more refined cars these days.

An Asian manufacturer that wants to raise awareness o f their existence. I would say Geely, but Lamborghini seems like a poor alignment for them.
Or I suppose Tata. Seems mostly aligned with their current European businesses.

But what if one car company bought all the stock?

Proton

Tesla doesn’t have real money to do so.
![]() 10/14/2019 at 11:46 |

That’s why you buy Tesla AND Lamborghini
![]() 10/14/2019 at 11:47 |

But VW already owns Lamborghini
![]() 10/14/2019 at 11:50 |

Or Toyota can buy VW, Lamborghini , and Tesla

So the next Celica can be based on the ID.3? Tesla can have Hydrogen powered rapid chargers and Lamborghini keeps the V12 from the carbon offsets.

Would be interesting if one of the F renchies bought into them.
I just really hope it’s not a Chinese company that buys them. Especially with how the world is going right now

Not that they could but I’d enjoy the irony.

I’m in for 5. Five bucks that is. I did drive a rented Lambo in Vegas. It was actually pretty God damn fast and fun. But a fiver is all I got in my wallet.
Cheesy pic of me filling the tank on the rental below,
